Year End Message

Date: 16/07/2021

Good morning, teachers and students.

In the blink of an eye, we have reached the end of this school year. Undoubtedly, this year has been difficult for us in many ways. From being barred from social contact, to transitioning to online learning, and missing out on many extra-curricular activities, we have had to make many adjustments and changes. With the help of students and teachers, we have found a way through together, and I would like to take this chance to extend my gratitude to all of you for the parts you have played this year.

This will not be the last time any of us face challenges or unforeseen circumstances. But when facing these situations, our two biggest assets are our adaptability and compassion.

First, to be adaptable is to be able to react sensitively and sensibly to changing situations. In a changing world, we must not be taken aback by change, but rather be ready for it, and more importantly, be able to ride the waves of change in a way that makes us better.

Second, to be compassionate is to look out for the needs and interests of others, and to look beyond ourselves in both attitude and action. Even when the world does not seem to be in our favour, we should try our best to put others first, so that we can move forward as a community without leaving anyone behind.

I am beyond proud to see that our school community has demonstrated both of these virtues this year. After this year, I trust that we are confident in tackling the challenges ahead.

The upcoming summer holiday will be a time of relaxation and recuperation for all of us. But don't forget that it can also be a golden opportunity for learning and self-enrichment. Reading, online courses and so on can be great outlets for you to enhance your interests and use your time productively.

Like all of you, I am hopeful for normal school life to resume in September, and will miss you all until then. In the meantime, wishing you all good health and a fruitful summer vacation. Thank you.
