Principal’s Message

Date: 05/09/2019

Good morning teachers and students.

I am glad to see you all back in school on the first day of the new school year. There are six new teachers joining our teaching team. Let me introduce them one by one. Mr. Patrick Ng teaches Physics, Mathematics and Computer Literacy. Mr. Davy Ng, the ICT panel convener, teaches ICT and Computer Literacy. Next are our new English teachers: Mr. Ross Ng and Miss Janice Lam. The fifth teacher is Miss Crowny Wang. She teaches Liberal Studies, English Language and Life & Society. The last teacher joining us is Mr. Ronald Kan. He is the Music panel convener and of course the teacher of all music lessons in the school. With these new forces and your cooperation with teachers, I am sure that all of you have a fruitful year ahead of you.

The HKDSE results of the 2019 S.6 graduates were brilliant. The average passing rate was 99.8% and more than 96% of graduates attained the minimum university admission requirement (33222). The average percentage of Level 4 or above was nearly 80%. One of our students got six 5** and one 5*, one student got five 5** one 5* and one student got five 5**.  Our graduates also got very promising JUPAS offers. Out of 121 graduates, 95% of them obtained an offer from JUPAS, breaking the school record. 76% of graduates were given a Bachelor Degree offer, and more than 60% of these degree offers were issued by HKU, CUHK and HKUST. All these achievements are due to our teachers’ efforts and the endless hard work of our S.6 graduates. Thank you to all the teachers and students who have been so dedicated and responsible in the past year, showing us that “You can, if you think you can.”

The educational theme of our school in 2019-2020 is “Harmony, Creativity & Vision 和諧創新 開拓願景”. Do you remember the Musical our students put on during the Variety Show in July? Fly high, dream high! Students, what is your dream?

Our society is currently facing the greatest challenges it has faced in decades. We may be devastated and overwhelmed, but we are not hopeless. We may feel that we are useless in these confusing times, we can still get through these difficult moments together by helping and supporting each other through all the ups and downs. Being the new principal, I hope we can walk together hand-in-hand through the dark times, and be the light in each other’s lives.

Thank you very much.
