Donation and Groundbreaking Ceremony

The Donation and Groundbreaking Ceremony of the Partial Redevelopment Project of Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College was completed successfully in the school hall on the morning of 6th August, 2022 (Saturday). Over 100 guests, patrons, current and former staff members, parents, alumni, and students joined the event to celebrate the commencement of the project.

 

Ms. Lam Wai Kei Vicky, the School Supervisor, opened the ceremony with her welcoming speech, in which she thanked the patrons, the school sponsoring body, parents, alumni, and students for supporting the school and joining the event.

 

Following Ms. Lam’s welcoming speech, the Honorable Guest Dr. Fung Yuk Bun Patrick, Chairperson of the Fung Yiu King Charitable Foundation Ltd., addressed the audience. He expressed appreciation for Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club’s commitment to providing students with quality education and hoped that future students could enjoy the new school facilities after the redevelopment project.

 

After that, Mr. Yeung Chi Keung, the School Principal, introduced the highlights of the redevelopment project, which had been initiated by the former school supervisor and principal in 2007. Having emphasized that the redevelopment project aimed at improving facilities of the school campus in order to enhance students’ learning capacity and support their holistic development, Mr. Yeung expressed gratitude to various stakeholders, who were united by this partial redevelopment project, for expressing their love for the school via different fund-raising campaigns.

 

Souvenirs were subsequently presented souvenirs by Dr. Mona Chau, President of the Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club, and Ms. Luk Ming, Chairlady of the Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club, accompanied by Miss Lam Wai Kei Vicky, the School Supervisor, before the guests officiated the groundbreaking ceremony.

 

Music performed by the School Choir, the Chinese Ensemble, and the String Orchestra concluded the event. They wished Hong Kong Chinese Women’s Club College a bright future.

 

 

婦女會中學擴建工程    捐贈儀式暨動土禮

 

         香港中國婦女會中學於8月6日為學校擴建工程舉行捐贈儀式暨動土禮。是次擴建項目旨在興建新翼教學大樓以建立創新的學習環境，並優化現有的學校設施，標誌著婦女會中學配合教育新趨勢，培育學生成為追求卓越之英才，踏出嶄新的里程。

 

        典禮上由校監林煒琦女士致歡迎辭，當中特別感謝贊助人、辦學團體、建築師、校友以及婦女會中學仝人的共同努力，令工程得以順利進行，從而改善學校的教學環境，為婦女會中學的發展譜出光輝的一頁。

 

          擴建工程主要贊助人——馮堯敬慈善基金有限公司慷慨捐贈港幣一仟萬元予婦女會中學興建新翼教學大樓，該公司主席馮鈺斌博士表示，婦女會中學在40年來一直秉承培育卓越人才的辦學宗旨，與其慈善基金注重優質教育的理念不謀而合，因此特意捐款以期為學生提供更好的學習環境。

 

         楊志强校長對馮鈺斌博士等贊助人的熱心捐助表達誠摯謝意，他亦感謝林校監多年來為婦女會中學爭取重建校舍，以及表揚一眾家長、校友、教職員與學生在過往籌備和參與大大小小的募捐活動，團結一心為學校的未來發展盡一分力，楊校長寄語各方的團結精神能持續下去。

 

          擴建工程計劃預計在2025年第一季峻工。計劃包括拆卸學校現有的禮堂，並在原址興建一棟樓高七層的新翼教學大樓，附設藝廊，而禮堂經優化後將可容納全校學生一同進行週會；同時改建原有校舍的設施，增設科學教育中心，令同學盡展潛能，發揮創意革新的精神。
